JP Morgan - A Tech Talk About The Actor Model

The actor model offers a methodology for reasoning about distributed applications in a unique and straightforward way. Starting from the theoretical foundation, we will present a way to develop distributed applications using the actor model. We will present how this model is implemented in the Erlang language, which is the platform used for creating WhatsApp and Facebook messenger, as well as implementations in other platforms such as Java. Finally, we will discuss what this means for the individual developer.
