סמינר בחלקיקים: Probing Physics Beyond the Standard Model: Searching for R-Parity Violation with a Light Neutralino at Belle II and Trigger Studies for a Heavy-Neutral-Lepton Search at ATLAS
Sara Gandelman, TAU
Abstract:
We propose a search for a GeV-scale neutralino with R-parity violation (RPV) at the Belle II experiment. Within the framework of RPV supersymmetry (SUSY), we investigate the potential for Belle II to detect signatures of a light neutralino. We outline the theoretical motivations, discuss key decay channels, and assess the sensitivity of this search to possible RPV coefficients.
In addition, we explore Heavy Neutral Leptons (HNLs) as potential extensions to the Standard Model (SM) in the context of an ongoing analysis at ATLAS. Using Monte Carlo simulations designed to emulate the ATLAS detector, we study existing triggers to enhance the sensitivity of future searches. We note the limitations of the current triggers and consider improvements for future studies, highlighting the importance of developing a displaced-vertex trigger to better capture the signatures of HNL decays.
